Dorner’s Sales, Support, Supply Chain Management and Production Capacity During the COVID-19 Pandemic
The impact of the pandemic is unprecedented. Our thoughts go out to all who have been or will be affected by the outbreak.
COVID-19 has created an incredibly fluid situation resulting in the potential disruption of our operations including the flow of incoming raw materials and parts as it impacts our suppliers as well as to our internal production capacity as it may impact our customers and our employees. During this time, our overriding concern is for the health and safety of our employees and visitors. However, understanding your need for a reliable and predictable flow of product from Dorner, we have taken the following steps to minimize the potential impact of parts or capacity shortages as well as creating an early warning system for orders that will be adversely affected by the current state of emergency.
We will take all steps possible to protect the support and service Dorner provides to you, our customer, while we make sure that the health and well-being of our employees and their families are taken care of. We value our partnership and appreciate your flexibility during these unusual and trying times. We will get through this together.

Supply Chain Management
- Contact is being made with each major vendor on a regular basis (weekly and in some case daily) verifying status of current open orders and future potential capacity constraints.
- We have required all major vendors to provide their plans for protecting their companies and minimizing the impact of the virus on their operations going forward.
- We are proactively identifying alternative sources of product, and performing testing in the event required, to soften the impact if any one major vendor is impacted.
- We are placing higher than normal orders to build stock while vendors are still in full production and have not yet been impacted by the virus.
At this time, with the majority of the virus impacting production from Asia and Europe, we have identified only one potential vendor issue related to the virus and we have implemented alternatives to minimize the impact of this. We do expect, as the virus impact extends in Europe and has a greater impact on US vendors, that more parts and raw materials will be adversely impactedtome.
Internal Production Capacity
The following steps have been taken to protect our employees from contracting the virus and to limit the impact on capacity in the event an employee is found to have contracted the virus:
- Extensive cleaning and disinfecting of work and common areas on a regular basis
- Personal and work area hygiene requirements implemented throughout our facilities
- Restriction on travel by Dorner employees and visitors to our facilities
- Requirements for vendors to complete verification of non-exposure prior to entrance to our facilities
- Work from home programs implemented where possible
- Temperature check stations set up throughout our facilities
- Isolation of work areas and split shift accommodations to lessen exposure of employees
- Sharing of capacity throughout our facilities when possible or practical
- Management Task force led by our VP of Global Operations to monitor the situation on a daily basis.
